What We Do

At the 4ged Futures Collaborative, we believe that every student deserves a safe and supportive environment to thrive.  This collaborative effort is dedicated to transforming the lives of our students and families by creating pro-social spaces that foster growth, connection, and well-being.

In the face of a national mental health crisis, particularly among adolescents, we recognize the urgent need for initiatives that address pressing challenges such as rising suicide rates, mental health concerns, and the dangers of vaping. Programs like 4ged Futures are not just beneficial; they are essential lifelines for our youth.

The 4ged Futures program is a cornerstone of our community's efforts to support our youth in navigating complex challenges. In light of increasing mental health struggles, suicide rates, and vaping issues, this program stands as a beacon of hope for students and families alike.

We are committed to the ongoing development and expansion of this initiative, recognizing the profound and lasting impact it has on the lives of those it touches. Together, we can create a brighter, healthier future for our students and our community.

4ged Futures and the Unwavering Support of the 1889 Foundation

4ged Futures is proud to acknowledge and celebrate the extraordinary support of the 1889 Foundation, whose steadfast commitment has been instrumental in the success of our program. With their generous funding and visionary leadership, we are making meaningful strides in empowering individuals, fostering community growth, and creating brighter futures.

The 1889 Foundation’s roots run deep in the Johnstown region, dating back decades. Initially established in 1993 as the Conemaugh Health Foundation, it served as the philanthropic arm of the Conemaugh Health System hospitals. In 2015, after Conemaugh Health System transitioned to a for-profit entity, the foundation embraced a new chapter as an independent nonprofit organization, reemerging as the 1889 Foundation. Today, the foundation stands as a pillar of philanthropy, dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the communities it serves.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Sue Mann, whose visionary leadership and unwavering dedication have elevated the 1889 Foundation’s mission and its impact. Sue’s guidance has not only strengthened the foundation’s commitment to building healthier communities but has also made a profound difference in advancing the goals of 4ged Futures. Her passion for creating sustainable change resonates in every aspect of this partnership, and we are honored to work alongside her and the foundation.

Thanks to the 1889 Foundation, 4ged Futures continues to deliver transformative programs that empower individuals and families. From offering essential resources to creating opportunities for growth, their belief in our mission inspires us to aim higher and achieve more.

Together, with the support of the 1889 Foundation, we are forging a brighter future for our community—one filled with hope, opportunity, and resilience. Thank you for standing with us on this journey.
