Recognizing that limited resources and funds often prevent these children from accessing the support they need, Coaches 4 Kids steps in to ensure that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the chance to engage in sports and activities that foster personal growth, teamwork, and development. Their mission is to bridge the gap, giving every child the opportunity they deserve.
Flood City Youth Academy (FCYFA) is a non-profit organization in downtown Johnstown, originally established in 2007 as the Flood City Boxing Academy. Its mission has since evolved to serve as a community learning center, providing local youth with academic enrichment, physical fitness, and after-school programs. Designated by the Greater Johnstown School District as a Satellite Safe Haven Site, FCYFA offers a safe and supportive environment where students can receive homework assistance, engage in recreational activities, and enjoy nutritious meals. With a focus on building self-esteem and fostering a healthy lifestyle, FCYFA empowers young people to thrive both academically and personally.
Hope 4 Johnstown is a grassroots organization formed by community members to combat violence and strengthen the city by embracing diversity and addressing the root causes of crime. Established in 2018, the group represents law enforcement, city government, community groups, and private citizens, all working toward the goal of achieving "Zero Deaths" in Johnstown. Partnering with the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and the City of Johnstown, Hope 4 Johnstown launched the Cure Violence program to treat and prevent violence. As a registered nonprofit, the organization continues to run programs that support and empower local youth.

New Day of Johnstown is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving at-risk youth and families in the community since 1978. Founded by Rev. Dr. Noah S. Martin and Rev. John Manges, New Day provides counseling, mentorship, and support programs rooted in Christian principles, offering positive alternatives to self-destructive behaviors. Operating from its headquarters on South Street in Johnstown, which includes a gymnasium and basketball court, New Day also has a branch in Windber. Their family-centered, preventive approach focuses on fostering healthy relationships and empowering individuals to overcome challenges and thrive.
